Every Friday for the past twelve years, our Torah scholars have gathered to learn Torah, at a time when all weekday kollels are closed, and at a time when torah learning is especially precious.

Friday Kollel

In addition the the great merit of bringing more Torah to the world, these extra hours of learning is also a great help to the scholars as they are given a stipend for their learning which most use to purchase last minute food items to put on their shabbos tables. Additionally, each scholar is given several loaves of challah.

Rechov Chatam Sofer, Old City Tsfat

The Damesek Eliezer Motzei Shabbat Kollel in the Trisk Beit Knesset is now in its 4th year of operation.

Every Saturday night for the past four years, our Torah scholars have gathered to learn Torah, at a time  when torah learning is especially precious, and ushering out the shabbat malka is a great mitzvah. After three hours of learning, the scholars eat a melave malka meal together and fill the air of the beit knesset with the beautiful singing of the traditional motzei shabbat zemirot.

In addition the the great merit of bringing more Torah to the world, these extra hours of learning are also a great help to the scholars as they are given a stipend for their learning, and can start the week with some money in their pocket to meet immediate needs of their families.

Hachnassat Sefer Torah

In The Beit Knesset HaGadol,

Nachal Novea, Old City Tsfat

In 2013, just days before the holiday of Shavuos, Rabbi Dahan and his family had the great honor of placing a torah, that was written specially for the merit of their family, in the Beit Knesset HaGadol in Tsfat.

The completion of a new sefer torah, is always a huge joy for the individuals involved, and for the entire community.

On this occasion a carefully planned procession wound its way through the street of Tsfat, bringing the new sefer torah from the Dahan family home, to its new home in the Beit Knesset HaGadol. This procession was followed by a blessing and welcoming of the new torah, some of which you can see in the video here on the right.
